Lena is a Southern Illinois native with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Mid-Continent University in Kentucky. She is also a certified Family and Community Development Specialist from the University of Illinois at Springfield and the Illinois Community Action Association and a Certified Care Coordinator from the Illinois Department on Aging. Lena serves on the Family Selection Committee of the local Habitat for Humanity and serves on the Southern Illinois Continuum of Care for Homelessness. Lena started her career at WADI as Saline County Manager then was promoted to Emergency Service Director in 2009. In 2012, Lena was promoted to Head Start / Early Head Start Director.
Responsibilities include supervision and management of:
- Head Start Centers in Harrisburg, Shawneetown, and Mt Carmel
- Head Start home based options in Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Saline, Wabash, Wayne and White counties
- Early Head Start home based options in Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Saline, Wabash, Wayne and White counties
