WADI's 2015 Family of Distinction for Wabash Cty

Kenni Jo Klingel and Clint Pritchett parents of 2 small children came into WADI for homeless assistance.  She and her family applied for tempoorary shelter through the Emergency Transitional Housing Program.  During the ETHAP application process, housing, employment and household stability goals were set.  Within the first week she had brought in copies of seven job applications apiece with local businesses.  From those applications they were both able to find employment.  WADI provided two weeks motel stay and meals through this program and Head Start services.  They saved what they could and were able to rent a home for themselves and their children with their own money.  Clint has now gone from two part time jobs to one full time job.  They also received school supplies, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and Christmas toys through Operation Share.  The family had previously received services from LIHEAP, CSBG, Salvation Army, Food Pantry, Ministerial Association and local funds.  They are an excellent example of how our programs can and do work.  With a little encouragement and a lot of hard work, they were able to reach the goal we wish for all our customers; bocoming self-sufficient.
